Whatever responsibilities the party gives me, I will deliver my best\u201d, Anand said soon after joining JD(U).<br \/>Anand is the wife of former MP Anand Mohan, who was released from jail last year after serving 15 years of imprisonment in a murder case.<br \/><i>-PTI<\/i><br \/>The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has \u201cfailed\u201d to deliver on its poll promises, Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi said on Monday and claimed that the party was facing difficulty in fielding new faces in the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.<br \/>\u201cAll development projects being executed in the state are funded by the Union government and were started much before the AAP came to power in the state,\u201d she said.<br \/>The project to clean \u2018Budha Nallah\u2019 in Ludhiana city has become a \u201cgold mine\u201d for some. She said that desealing of sealed shops will be taken up by her in the first week if she is elected.<br \/>North East Delhi candidate Manoj Tiwari said the Signature bridge was completed in his previous term as the MP and he also brought Metro trains to the area. Tiwari said a beautiful riverfront will be completed in 100 days and work is underway to remove congestion in the area.<br \/>South Delhi candidate Ramvir Bidhuri said that a six lane highway in Badarpur Assembly segment was nearing completion and 70 per cent work in it was done. The Congress is set to contest in nine seats in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry, while the ruling DMK will contest on 21 seats.<br \/>In one or two days, the DMK is likely to release the candidates list also. The seats on which Congress will fight in Tamil Nadu are Thiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Karur, Cuddalore, Myladuthurai, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumari.<br \/>The MDMK, the IUML and the KMDK (DMK symbol) have been given one seat each while the VCK, the CPM, the CPI get two seats each in the Lok Sabha polls. &#8211; <em>ANI<\/em><br \/>A BJP MLA, who won the Madhya Pradesh Assembly poll last year with the highest vote margin, has dared the Congress to field Rahul Gandhi from Indore seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.<br \/>The BJP has fielded its sitting MP Shankar Lalwani from the Indore seat, while the Congress has not yet announced its candidate.<br \/>Four-time BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola in a post on X shared a news clip about speculation that State Congress president Jitu Patwari is the first choice of the Opposition party for the Indore Lok Sabha seat.<br \/>\u201cDear @INC, why are you making poor Jitu Patwari ji a scapegoat? I request you to give a ticket to Rahul ji from Indore in his place. Our Indore is Modi ji\u2019s family. This family will bid farewell to @RahulGandhi ji by gifting him a defeat by a margin of at least 7 lakh votes and yes, this is not arrogance but faith,\u201d Mr. Mendola said. &#8211; <em>PTI<\/em><br \/>Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav said the seat-sharing for Bihar among the INDIA bloc allies was in the final stages and would be sealed in the next few days.<br \/>The RJD leader, who came here from Mumbai after attending a rally organised by the Opposition INDIA bloc at Shivaji Park on March 17, said most issues had been sorted and there were issues only on one or two seats left.<br \/>\u201cEverything will be decided in two-three days. It is in the final stages. There are some issues over a seat or two, but everything will be sorted out,\u201d Mr. Yadav told reporters here. &#8211; <em>PTI<\/em><br \/>Former Chief Election Commissioner of India T. S. Krishnamurthy suggested that online voting facility be provided to senior citizens, physically-challenged persons and members of the uniformed services, to start with.<br \/>He also urged political parties to seriously explore the possibility of cutting down the number of physical public meetings and increasingly opt for online campaigning, leveraging the power of digital media.<br \/>He said that during his tenure as the head of the Election Commission of India, the proposal to give online voting options to senior citizens and physically-challenged persons was examined and informal consultations were also held with IIT Madras. &#8211; <em>PTI<\/em><br \/>Assam Opposition parties Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) have alleged that the State\u2019s BJP-led government has violated the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by failing to remove official advertisements featuring the Prime Minister and Chief Minister.<br \/>State Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah and TMC State chief Ripun Bora have separately written to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar expressing their concerns. While the Congress lodged its complaint on Sunday, the TMC sent the letter on March 18.<br \/>Mr. Borah emphasised that the presence of advertisements with the photographs of the PM, CM and others constitute a \u201cgross violation\u201d of the MCC and urged the CEC to take immediate action.<br \/>The MCC was enforced nationwide after Lok Sabha election schedule was announced on March 16. This time, Assam has more than 2.43 crore voters spread over 28,650 polling stations. We have taken a large number of steps. CAPF will be deployed in each polling station, and we will try to cover 55% of polling stations with webcasting. We will deploy micro-observers from central PSUs. There will also be additional videography.
