The National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is predicted to win 41 out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra while the opposition INDI alliance may bag seven seats, News18’s Mega Opinion Poll has revealed.
According to the survey, the NDA will win with a vote share of 48 percent while the INDIA bloc may secure 34 percent vote share.
With 48 Lok Sabha seats, Maharashtra is the second largest contributor to the lower house of the Parliament after Uttar Pradesh (80 seats).
Looking back at the 2019 Lok Sabha results
In the 2019 general election, the NDA bagged 41 out of 48 seats, wherein the BJP alone won 23 seats. Meanwhile, the undivided Shiv Sena, a BJP ally, bagged 18 seats.
The NCP (then undivided) had bagged four seats while the Congress could secure only one seat.
However, this time both Shiv Sena and NCP have split. While Shiv Sena (Shinde) and NCP (Ajit) are part of NDA, Shiv Sena (Uddhav) and NCP (Sharad Pawar) are part of INDI alliance.
